Soldier Summit Yurt

A super cozy mountain yurt with your comfort in mind. We have a lot of yurting experience and we think this yurt has it all. It is remote and high up in the mountains, yet a short drive from civilization. Plus, if you're traveling along Highway 6, it is only a stone's throw away!

Soldier Summit Yurt sleeps eight adults comfortably on queen sized bunk beds. Three inch sleeping pads are provided. There is a wood burning stove and dry firewood to keep nice and toasty. Double-burner gas stove, kitchenware with food prep counter space, solar powered lighting system, games and books, table and chairs, and, of course, an epic outhouse!

In today's busy world of technology, it is incredibly enjoyable and rejuvenating to be far up in the mountains with those you love and care about without any distractions. Snowshoeing and backcountry skiing during the day, and relaxing, playing games, and laughing the night away. That is what yurting is all about.

In the wintertime, snowshoeing or skiing to the yurt makes for a beautiful trail. Your destination is just over 1.5 miles and is a cozy 20' diameter yurt tucked back into a grove of aspen, pine, and junipers. The yurt is located at ~ 8,300' elevation. There are several slopes nearby if you wish to do some back country skiing or good o' fashion sledding. There is great access to snowmobiling trails just up the road as well!

Furry friends are welcome! A small pet fee will be added after booking.

NOTE: In the wintertime when we have more overcast skies and cold temps, the battery does not always charge as intended. We have done everything we can to allow it to function in cold temps, but sometimes guests don't follow check out instructions and the battery is drained and won't charge. We try hard to give other options (such as taking up a small back up battery) to allow groups to still utilize the overhead lights. Regardless, you should take your own light sources (battery lantern, flashlights, etc.). No discount will be applied if the solar lighting is not working. This is an extra perk we offer and not standard with any backcountry yurt.
